Tours: Guided tours are seasonal and must be scheduled in advance through the Tippecanoe County Historical Association.

Located at the site of a 1717 French outpost, this fort features a block house and a 30-acre riverside park.

The fort is also the site of the annual Feast of the Hunters’ Moon, a fall festival that recreates life at an 18th century fur trading outpost.

Spend a day engaged in lively trading with the reenactors or savor the variety of foods roasting and brewing over open fires. The Feast is a weekend in late September or early October each year.

Moses Fowler House

This English Gothic style home was built in 1851-1852 by Moses Fowler. He was a cattle baron, merchant and banker and wanted a home to reflect his social status. The home was remodeled in 1916 by Moses’ grandson, Cecil Fowler. It was purchased from him in the early 1940s by the Tippecanoe County Historical Association. The Fowler House is currently closed for renovation and restoration of the historic house museum. The facility is still available for rentals.

Purdue University was established in 1869 as Indiana’s land-grant institution. Classes began in 1874 with a total enrollment of 39 students. Today, the university is home to more than 35,000 students. Not only has there been growth in enrollment but the university has experienced growth in its art collections, beautiful buildings and landscaping on campus, athletic events, musical programs and convocations.

Walking or riding tours of campus, as well as departmental programs, can be arranged in advance through the Purdue Visitor Information Center. Call them at 765-494-4636 for scheduling.

Step back in time and visit this unique “walk-by” Standard Oil Service Station. Built in 1928 this building is on e of only seven “castle-designed” stations remaining. This station houses numerous displays of automobile and service station memorabilia as well as classic and antique cars.
